Hi Matti!
   If it's only the left cannel youneed, seperately, it's simple:
ecasound -f:16,2,44100 -i input.mp3 -f:16,1,44100 -o output
   A better way of doing it, to get everything in one command:
ecasound -f:16,2,44100 -a:1,2 -i input.mp3 -a:1 -chmute:2 [EQ] -a:2 -chmute:1
-a:all -o output
   This should work. Another way of doing it would be csound or other
synthesizer environments. If you are for scriptable things, or anything that
can be controlled from commandline, I believe there's: csound, clm and
supercollider (not sure).
