$ ecasound -i foo.wav -ei 50 -o alsa
plays foo.wav half speed.
$ ecasound -i foo.wav -ei 200 -o alsa
plays foo.wav double speed. And so on...
(replace the 'alsa' with '/dev/dsp' if you have
ALSA older than 0.6 or OSS drivers)
Related to this, I noticed still some strangeness when using really low
$ ecasound -i bass2.wav -ei 20 -o alsa
(eca-engine) Prefilling i/o buffers.
(audioio-alsa3) unknown device state!
(audioio-alsa3) Xrun handling failed!
Warning: DBC_REQUIRE failed - "is_triggered_rep == false",

It played, but the above error message still seems bit scary.
